Nach dem Vorgänger Album Unlocked and Reloaded im Jahr 2020, ging es fix mit der neuen Scheibe. Diesmal bei ROAR Records. Mein Eindruck über das gehörte im Einzelnen:
«Against all Odds» der Opener dieses Werkes schiesst schon mal richtig gut aus den Startblöcken. Das lässt keinen Zweifel darüber, das wir es hier mit erfahrenen Musikern zu tun haben die genau wissen wo sie Ihre Akzente setzen müssen. Melodisch und mit viel Punch geht’s los.
Das gleiche kann man auch auf «One day» übertragen, eine Midtempo Nummer die wie bei allen anderen Songs durch das filigrane, und doch druckvolle Gitarrenspiel des Frank Pane besticht.
«The Essence of R`n`R Ein trockener staubiger Hardrocker der direkt vom Ohr ins Bein fährt. Natürlich wird der Rockn Roll nicht neu erfunden, wie sich bei einem Track wie «Out of Control» zeigt. Da ist eine Verwandtschaft mit Whitesnake durchaus herauszuhören. Was aber nicht negativ zu werten ist, eher gibt’s dem Song den richtigen Drive. Bei «Never back down» rücken die Keyboards in den Vordergrund, was aber den Song hervorragend abrundet. «Good ol company» kommt hart, flott und treibend daher. Einer meiner Favorites. Eine echte Power Nummer. «On & On Chained» mit einem opulenten Start, um dann über die pumpende Bassline, sich zu einem der melodiöseren Höhepunkte entwickelt. Nun «Losing my Religion».. war schon im Original von REM nie einer meiner favorite Songs und hätte hier auch nicht unbedingt sein müssen. 
 

Fazit. 
TASTE IT ist ein weiteres Album das durch die Handschrift von Frank Pane und der Stimme von Jack Meille getragen wird. Ein abwechslungsreiches und songtechnisch ausgereiftes Album das die Band wieder ein schritt vorwärts bringt. Absolut empfehlenswert für die Freunde des Hardrock mit leichten Southern Einflüssen.

After the previous album Unlocked and Reloaded in 2020, it went fixed with the new disc. This time at ROAR Records. My impression of that was in detail: «Against all Odds» the opener of this work shoots really well out of the starting blocks. This leaves no doubt that we are dealing with experienced musicians who know exactly where to set their accents. It starts melodically and with a lot of punch. You can do the same on «One day» transmitted, a mid-tempo number that, like all the other songs, impresses with Frank Pane's filigree, yet powerful guitar playing. «The Essence of R`n`R A dry, dusty hard rocker that goes straight from the ear to the leg. Of course, rock'n'roll isn't reinvented, as a track like "Out of Control" shows. A relationship with Whitesnake can definitely be heard. But that's not to be judged negatively, rather it gives the song the right drive. In «Never back down» the keyboards come to the fore, which rounds off the song perfectly. "Good ol company" is hard, fast and driving. One of my favourites. A real power number. «On & On Chained» starts off with a bang, then builds over the pumping bassline to one of the more melodic climaxes. Well «Losing my Religion».. was never one of my favorite songs in the original by REM and shouldn't have been here. 

 

Conclusion. 
TASTE IT is another Album carried by the signature of Frank Pane and the voice of Jack Meille. A varied and song-technically mature album that brings the band a step forward again. Absolutely recommendable for friends of hard rock with slight Southern influences.
