Anno Domini 2021 betrat eine neue Band die Szene, die mit Ihrem ersten Album Heavenly Creatures schon ordentlich Staub aufwirbelte und ein Ausrufezeichen setzte. BLACK & DAMNED. Ein Projekt von gestandenen Musikern die genaue Vorstellungen hatten von dem was sie wollten. Genau DAS hörte man diesem Debut an… Eine Scheibe die durch ihre Zeitlosigkeit heute noch oft den Weg in meinen Player findet. Nun, es ist 2023 und sie sind wieder da. «Servants oft he Devil» so der Titel ihres neuesten Werkes. Was ist neu? So einiges. Was ist geblieben? Genau so viel. Geblieben ist die straighte Linie der Songs. Wenn Power dann kompromisslos, wenn dunklere, oder Midtempo Nummern dann mit der richtigen Atmosphäre .. hier mal hervorzuheben ..Vocalist Bobbes der allen Genre Richtungen mit seinem Einsatz die richtige Nuance setzt die es braucht. Tja jetzt wird’s schwierig… .. einzelne Songs hervorzuheben das wäre müssig. Dazu gekommen ist die noch ausgefeiltere Geradlinigkeit der Songs. Mal schimmert etwas Bowie, mal etwas Black Sabath, mal etwas Rainbow, aber das ist das Salz in der Suppe… Aus all diesen guten Zutaten etwas Eigenes zu kreieren .. DAS ist die Kunst. Und diese Einflüsse mit reinzunehmen beherrschen sie grossartig. Das Album besticht durch seine Kompaktheit, der künstlerischen und musikalischen Qualität ein exzellentes Songwriting, und ja, es macht Vergnügen dieses Werk zu hören… Und zwar von vorne bis Hinten… Es wird nie langweilig.. es bleibt immer spannend .. BLACK & DAMNED haben wieder zweifellos ein zeitloses Meisterwerk auf die Beine gestellt. Ich weiss zwar nicht wohin die Reise noch geht.. aber so lange dieses hohe Qualitätslevel gehalten wird… noch sehr weit.. Ein MUSS für jede gut sortierte Sammlung und zum immer wieder anhören.

Anno Domini 2021, a new band entered the scene, which kicked up a lot of dust with their first album Heavenly Creatures and set an exclamation mark. BLACK & DAMNED. A project by seasoned musicians who had precise ideas about what they wanted. That's exactly what you heard on this debut... A disc that still often finds its way into my player due to its timelessness. Well, it's 2023 and they're back. "Servants of the Devil" is the title of her latest work. What's new? quite a lot. What's left? Just as much. stayed the straight line of the songs. If power then uncompromising, if darker or mid-tempo numbers then with the right atmosphere .. to be emphasized here ..vocalist Bobbes, who sets the right nuance with his use of all genre directions that it needs. Well now it's getting difficult... .. highlighting individual songs that would be pointless. Added to this is the even more sophisticated straightforwardness of the songs. Sometimes a little Bowie shimmers, sometimes a little Black Sabath, sometimes a little Rainbow, but that's the icing on the cake... Creating something of your own from all these good ingredients.. THAT is the art. And they are great at taking these influences into account. The album impresses with its compactness, the artistic and musical quality, excellent songwriting, and yes, it is a pleasure to listen to this work... From beginning to end... It never gets boring.. it's always exciting.. BLACK & DAMNED have once again undoubtedly created a timeless masterpiece. I don't know where the journey is going.. but as long as this high level of quality is maintained... still a long way.. A MUST for every well-assorted collection and to listen to again and again.
